TED PAVILION
In collaboration with Rock and Rain, SYNPERIA created a pavilion for the 2012 TED talks sponsored by Target and Steelcase. The design for the pavilion was composed as a box, a scrim and a tower. The ceiling plane is a white tensile fabric scrim. The tower is a system of self-supported folded plates. The box is a system of stress-skin panels, prefabricated to allow for quick installation in the convention hall lobby. A system of trusses is arrayed along the back of the box to anchor the other end of the scrim and support the lid of the box. The form of each piece makes apparent the forces acting on it. copyright 2012 SYNPERIA
